Utah Valley Marathon Running Club

I, the undersigned participant (and my parent or guardian if I am younger than 18 years of age or otherwise ineligible to sign this of my own accord), intending to be legally bound, do hereby forever release and waive any and all rights, claims, and actions for damages that we, our heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns may have, or that may hereafter accrue against any and all persons, organizations, and other entities associated with the Utah Valley Marathon Running Club (the "Club”) including but not limited to the Utah Valley Marathon, all sponsors and officials of the Club, and the employees, volunteers, including medical volunteers, and other representatives, agents, and successors of each of the foregoing (the “Releasees”), from all present and future claims and liabilities of any kind, known or unknown, arising directly or indirectly out of my participation in the Club, even though such claim or liability may arise out of negligence or fault on the part of any of the Releasees. I am voluntarily entering and assume all risks associated with participating in the Club or with transportation before, during, or after the Club, or with any activities or celebrations in connection with the Club, including, but not limited to, falls; contact with or injuries arising from other participants, spectators, vehicles, bicycles, or other objects or persons; the effects of the weather, including heat, wind, cold temperature, and wet, icy or otherwise slippery surfaces; falling tree branches or other overhead objects; traffic; and the crowded nature and other conditions of the course, road debris, pot holes; emotional or psychological harms arising from such sources as disparagement, criticism, trauma, or any physical injury or act; all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I verify that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained to participate in this Club. I assume the risks involved in this activity. I agree not to enter and participate in the Club unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of an Club official relative to my ability to safely participate in the Club. I further attest that I will be vigilant and alert to traffic along the training routes and hold said sponsors and organizers blameless in any harm that may happen. I also give my permission for the free use of my name and/or pictures in telecasts, broadcasts, newspapers, posters, advertising, etc. I understand that the membership fees are non-refundable and not transferable to other members. Further, I understand and agree that the Utah Valley Marathon Running Club reserves the right to change the details of (such as the date, start time, course, pricing, etc.) and amenities offered with the Club for any reason whatsoever, and I hereby waive and release any claims that I may have as a result of any such changes to the details and/or amenities offered with the Club. AUTHORIZATION: I grant to the Medical Director of the Club and his designees permission to administer or arrange for any medical assistance that they deem necessary or appropriate as a result of my participation in the Club events, including without limitation, performing CPR or other emergency medical procedures or arranging transportation to a hospital or other medical facility. I also grant them access to my medical records and physicians, as well as other information, relating to medical care that may be administered to me at any such medical facility as a result of my participation in the Club events.
