About Doug Flutie Foundation

You will be missed, but if you are unable to make the event and still wish to make an impact, we are graciously accepting donations.  Please make checks payable to: The Norfolk Police Association.  At the close of the event, the Norfolk Police Association will present one check to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation. 100 percent of the money donated will be presented to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation.  Here is what the foundation does in part:

The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism was founded in 1998 by former NFL and Boston College Quarterback Doug Flutie and his wife, Laurie, both from Natick, Massachusetts. After their son Doug, Jr. was diagnosed with autism at the age of three, they wanted to ensure that other families affected by autism had opportunities for support and access to services. Now in our 25th year, the Flutie Foundation offers several programs to help people and families of all ages affected by autism live each day to the fullest by alleviating the financial distress caused by an autism diagnosis and making sure services are available to all people with autism regardless of their ability to pay. Although people with autism continue to see amazing progress from innovations in autism treatment, these innovative and transformative interventions come at a high cost. The Flutie Foundation is here to help!

Over the years, Flutie Foundation has become a trusted partner to individuals and autism organizations throughout the country  – removing the barriers (economic, cultural, lack of availability of services geographically) for people with autism to connect with and access programs they need to prosper and grow.
