Cheyenne Firecracker 5K/10K Race Description

Join us for the 9th Annual Firecracker 5k/10k Race benefitting Needs Inc. Food Pantry. All proceeds are used in the fight against hunger in Laramie County!

The race starts at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza. Enjoy your surroundings as you run on the Cheyenne Greenway. Wave to volunteers by the Needs Inc. Food Pantry before running up the Central Avenue Viaduct. Finish strong back at the Depot Plaza and recover with snacks.

10-k

Would be nice if the race could start at 7 for the 10-k would be a bit cooler. It’s so hot at 8 am. Nice race overall also would be nice to have watermelon afterwards at the finish. And have the star spangled banner song sang at the beginning of the race.

Cheyenne Firecracker 5k/10k

Record turnout with 305 participants. We raised a bunch of money for Needs. The weather was unusually cool. The last mile was very challenging with a big climb up the overpass. The venue at the historic train depot was awesome! A big thank you to the race organizers and all the volunteers. God bless you and best wishes. Have a fantastic day and a very happy 4 of July. 🏃‍♂️❤️🙏
