Infound this race 3 yrs ago and have done it 3 times now, love it! There are not many 10k runs in ME so this one is a real gem. Love that it is a hybrid run, with both packed dirt trail and a short sprint on a technique one track trail to finish out the race. It gives a nice break from asphalt! The after party is awesome too! See you in 2025 😃

This is Maine's best racing value. Food? Fab. Beer? Wonderful. Swag? Useful. Location? Gorgeous. Party? Unbeatable. This race is so good I hesitate to let the secret out. Oh, and there's wonderful striper fishing off the point.
This is literally the best race I have ever participated in. I have been running every year since I was single and living in Boston. I am married and live in CT now and we drive to Maine every year to participate. The route is great, scenery is amazing, and the post-race BBQ is THE BEST! I cannot say enough great things about this race. We camp at the campground, get up, run the race, eat amazing food, and then explore the area, go to L.L. Bean, go get Lobster Rolls... so much to do. I evangelize this race to all my friends.
Please consider an optional non sugar award for those runners who do not consume sugar. Looking forward to racing in Freeport. Thanks.
This race holds a very special spot in my heart. It was my very first race (the 5K) and I have returned to run the 10K as well. The race is very organized, in a really beautiful spot and I love that pies are given as the prizes.
With pie to top it off! Great 10k course. This will be my second year and plan on many more :-)
Always have fun at this race. It's casual. The course is not too difficult but fun. Especially love the trail part. Family oriented and enjoy the after party very much.
It was a great race. Beautiful location and very well run. The great food and beverages were a very nice extra! Having run 5K's now in 40 states (on my way to 50), it is up there as a favorite!
Once it got started it was fun, but there was no sign for the start area and people were walking around the park a tad lost. But finally a lady used a bull horn and told people where the start of race was happening, also about 1.35 miles of the race for the 5k was in the woods and lots of roots and few downed trees, it had just rained so it was slipperly. This is not 100% on the road. Mostly a flat course for the 5k and only a slight hill.
Wonderful course, the organizers are even better people and just an all around well run race/event!
