Coosa River Challenge XIX Race Description

Two person teams or individuals.  4-6 hours of trail running, mountain biking, river paddling with lots of special tests throughout.

Our goal is to provide a race that is fun for everyone.  The course is friendly enough to be finished by the novice racer, while challenging enough for the veteran adventure racer.  We expect the top teams to finish in about 4 hours with the majority of racers to have finished in 6 hours.  The route incorporates the last of the whitewater of Alabama's major river systems and finishes in historic downtown Wetumpka.

Divisions include:

Coed Teams, Male Teams, Female Teams, Family Teams and Male and Female Individual categories.

Race meeting and finish line located at Coosa River Adventures Wetumpka where spectators can easily watch the initial and final stages of the race.

With the exception of Military Deployment, there is a "No Refund" policy

Fun race!

Love this race! Very well established and well staffed and there is something for everyone, from running and biking to paddling and orienteering - with a rappel thrown in for fun. The routes are well marked and the results are fast - very smooth overall. My one comment (and reason for only 4 stars on "course") is to not have people swim with their boats across the river. It is very difficult on individuals and makes them expend more energy than a team does, but it absolutely wrecks their time.

Great Fun

A really fun, well-organized race. Challenging at all the stages, but good for beginners through seasoned vets.

Awesome

Thanks for providing this well organized race. My son and I made memories. We asked each other about top 3 of the course. It was hard to keep it to just 3. The obstacles/challenges were so much better than any other race. The "pickled mud pit posse" is a must see!
