Deer Creek Open Water Marathon Swim Race Description

The Annual Deer Creek Open Water Marathon Swim will take place on Saturday August 12, 2023. Choose from race distances of 1 mile, 5K, 10K and 10 miles with unassisted (suit, cap, goggles) and assisted (wetsuit, MP3 player, fins, paddles, etc) divisions.

This event is open to swimmers ages 12 and up.

Swimmers may wear an inflatable safety buoy, such as the New Wave Swim Buoy.

ALL swimmers are required to provide their own support boat and paddler.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

6:30 - 7:30 AM - Swimmer Check-In

7:30 AM - Safety Meeting at Boat Ramp

8:00 AM - 10 Mile race begins

8:05 AM - 10K race begins

8:10 AM - 5K race begins

8:15 AM - 1 Mile race begins

UTAH TRIPLE CROWN

The 10 mile swim is one of three swims that make up the Utah Triple Crown. The other two swims are the 10K Great Salt Lake and the 10K Bear Lake Monster Swim.

Swimmers who complete all three of these swims in the same year will receive the Utah Triple Crown award at the annual Salt Lake Open Water (SLOW) awards dinner.

MINI TRIPLE CROWN

The 1-mile swim is one of three events that make up the Mini Triple Crown. The other two swims are the 1-mile swim at the Great Salt Lake Open Water Swim and the 1-mile swim at the Bear Lake Monster swim.

Swimmers who complete all three of these swims in one year will receive a special award at the Salt Lake Open Water (SLOW) awards dinner.

We are offering a discounted bundle for anyone who is interested in doing the Utah Triple Crown and Mini Triple Crown.

Great experience

The race conditions were terrific: mild water temperature, clear sky, grand vistas great people. Thanks for everyone who helped put this one, during this pandemic time. Everyone wore masks at the appropriate times. It was a pleasure, one of the highlights of summer.
