I had the best time good music great food, this race was well organized I had so much fun the race was challenging had uphills but with that came a great view of Los Angeles. At the end of the race I got mexican bread and aguas frescas and so many other things it was a lot a fun definitely doing this race next year and signing up for more roxxevents el dia de los muertos run.
The course is very challenging, with several up hills and down hills, it’s a good test of fitness. With almost no cars on the course. Every registered runner receives a finish medal, and there are age group awards.
Fun. Loved the shirt and medal. Good music. Liked the dance performance.
Everything prior and after the main running part of the event is perfect, there were dancers, very photogenic scenery, easy way out of the event. I can't say about the food, by the time the slower runners/walkers were finishing there were no water bottles, but I was not hanging around to see if there were more added. About the course, the actual running: Oh my gosh, in so many small ways it could go wrong, It did. There was only one volunteer in the first loop guiding people to the second loop, but he had to go ahead and find runners who had run off course in a different direction( I was spared just 0.2 miles off course, but others were not so luck), No other volunteers than the ones at the one water station by mile 1.5 or so and the runners who were volunteering after the fact by mile 2.9.. NO SIGNS?! to guide us from not running off the various intersections? Please close the course to cars next time. I was so livid seeing a woman almost get hit by a car DRIVING AGAINST THE RACE FLOW, DOWNHILL SLOPE... come on! There was a man about the 2.9 mile walking his dogs without leashes, right in the thin section before you see the finish line, people stumbling around them at such a critical section, okay.. I suggest, More volunteers at any intersection, any damn amount of SIGNS at least, complete restricted access to cars for at least the first 50 minutes, please, maybe to pedestrians as well in that specific section! I beg of you haha. I'm mad and humored by this. First time I ever feel compelled to leave a bad review for a race. One more thing, where are the results? Seriously, I can't find them. Not that it matters since I ran 0.4 more, almost another kilometer, in this race. Hopefully they appear in the next week.. it's been two days. Thank you for the experience though, I welcome quirky life experiences, but I won't do this race again. That's the price of organizing a race in Elysian park, I'd assume. Cheers! <3
