Minutemen Moonwalk-A-Thon Race Description

On July 20, 1969, humans walked on another world for the first time in history, achieving the goal that President John F. Kennedy had set in 1961. After a landing that included dodging a lunar crater and boulder field just before touchdown, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin explored the area around their lunar landing site for more than two hours. They planted an American flag and left medallions honoring the Apollo 1 crew and a plaque saying, “We came in peace for all mankind.”

50 years later, the Minutemen Moonwalk-A-Thon celebrates the accomplishment and valor of these first moonwalkers. Travel up to 3 laps to walk with Apollo 11 astronauts, 6 laps to walk with Apollo 12 astronauts, or 10 laps to walk with Apollo 14 astronauts. Want a bigger challenge? Apollo missions 15, 16, and 17 had a moon buggy! Can you outdistance the moon buggy trips?
