 St. Kateri’s Run with the Son for Haiti 5K Run/Walk

St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church

3800 Big Bethel Rd. Yorktown

This event is a family-oriented 5K run/walk through a friendly neighborhood in Yorktown, Virginia.  It features pickup food and drinks before and after the race, live music performed by the Tabb HS Jazz Band, and lots of give-aways, raffles, and a silent auction.  All proceeds go directly to educating Haitian children in Boucan Carre, Haiti.  Last year the race monies provided over 200 students with school tuition, uniforms, books, a daily vitamin and a hot meal for the entire school year.

Top 3 in 16 age groups through 80+and above run finishers

Trophy to the winning high school team (average top 5 runners)

ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE SCHOOL TROPHY – 

 Win a trophy to be displayed at your school for the

year by having the most runners participate.

Excellent family/school run for great purpose.

This run has been consistently fun, well organized, and professionally timed and reported. The indoor atmosphere, restrooms, and wonderful food will not be available in 2020, but knowing the proceeds will go to support the schools in Haiti, will ensure I participate again this year. I encourage all of you to register and run your own course.

Worthy Cause

This was the first virtual Run for the Son, but my third virtual run in Running Man. Very safe course. The directions on uploading results were difficult to find but I finally fingers it out on the last day. Beat of luck to everyone who participated.
