This is not a race. It's a community bike ride, New Haven's largest celebration of Earth Day. All rides begin and end in East Rock Park. In 2024, you can choose from the following routes: 1-mile, a new 8-mile family ride, 12-mile, 20-mile, a new 40-mile, metric century, plus hikes in East Rock and West Rock Parks.
Rock to Rock supports 20+ local nonprofits doing environmental work. We encourage all participants to engage in peer-to-peer fundraising for one or more of the nonprofit partners listed on the Rock to Rock website at https://www.rocktorock.org/partnerorganizations. Rock to Rock is one of my favorite New Haven traditions! I helped organize it for a long time, but stepped back in 2021. The folx who kept the ride going are AMAZING, and the event was so sweet (and safe) in the midst of COVID. Great plan for staggered starts, lots of options for riding and walking, etc.

A breath of fresh air!
It was so wonderful to have a true community event again during these difficult times. The innovative way to run this event, and the friendly support at the rest stops made this a true enjoyment of spring!

Great day for a ride with friendly people who enjoy bike riding for the sake of the environment. A true community event. The 20-mile route was scenic, relaxed and fun. We went by Sleeping Giant Park with a rest stop along the way. Highly recommend!
tough day
downloaded the map from the rock to rock web site that showed the start at west rock. At registration was not given a T shirt. No one knew how I should give my pledge check. Route was blocked after first break. leaders took off and left me in the dust.

My favorite thing about New Haven
I was so grateful that this could be pulled off in-person in 2021. It was such a gorgeous day! Ride groups were kept small and more able to stick together with the guides than in years' past. My family rode to the top of East Rock and were excited to put a rock on the cairn at the summit.
