Runway 5K - Charlotte Race Description
This flat and fast course offers runners and walkers a unique opportunity to run on one of the countries' busiest airport runways. In its 14th year, the CLT Runway 5K will take place for the first time completely on the runway and taxiways. Participants will see planes queuing up, taking off and landing. It is an experience that the whole family will enjoy! You must register as a runner to participate. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. The race will be limited to 1500 participants. Register now, this event will sell out.

Really dumb idea
Having this race on one of the busiest runways was a dumb idea! Our American Airlines flight was delayed by one hour due to the race as were many many others a week and a half ago. People on our flight missed their connection, ruined their trips so that people could run on a busy Runway. Whose bright idea was this?!
