New Hope Clubhouse is located at 304 S. Lincoln St., in Kendallville, Indiana. The clubhouse is a voluntary self-help program for adult men and women recovering from mental illness. Members of Clubhouse work side-by-side with staff as co-workers and colleagues to operate the Clubhouse. All work in the Clubhouse is designed to help members regain self-worth, purpose, confidence and to promote recovery. The clubhouse serves DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble, and Steuben Counties.
Clubhouse members volunteer their time to maintain Clubhouse. Working together with staff, members are able to derive a sense of accomplishment, build skills, and establish relationships.
Members are encouraged to take on leadership roles, initiate tasks, and participate in all decision-making. Clubhouse members and staff are also active in promoting the rights of the mentally ill, and in erasing the stigma that often separates them from their neighbors.
