The Blind K Blindfold Run/Walk

"THE BLIND K BLINDFOLD" RUN / WALK is not your typical ATHLETIC event. We give you a tiny taste of what it is like to have low to no vision.

When you sign up for THE BLIND K BLINDFOLD RUN/WALK, you will run or walk a 5k with a friend. There is only one catch. One of you must run or walk blindfolded. One can wear the blindfold for the entire run/walk, or you can switch halfway through.

Living and working in a trusted community is vital for those with low to no vision. The same is true for an international surgical team. Surgeons need scrub techs, scrub techs need circulators, circulators need those who can screen, and we all need donated supplies. Join us for this event and FEEL WHAT IT IS LIKE to put your FULL TRUST in someone else. 

Why 35 dollars?

Thirty-five dollars is the AVERAGE PRICE for an international sight-restoring cataract surgery. Though prices vary from country to country, $35.00 is the typical cost. Cataract surgeries in the USA can cost $2000 - $5000 based on the type of surgery and lens implant you select.

However, Vision Outreach International (VOI) works hard to find qualified volunteers, donated supplies, and individuals willing to support these international surgeries. We raise funds for the needed surgical equipment and strive to be good stewards of these resources by doing a lot of our maintenance, thus keeping our surgical costs to a minimum. 

Everyone who completes their assigned RUN / WALK and reports their results can receive one of our valuable prizes. We will draw names for prizes within two weeks of the completed event.
