YBLA 5K Race Description

The Young Black Leadership Alliance’s first annual 5K race will serve as a fundraising opportunity for Top Scholars and Ambassadors to raise money to pay for mission trips. YBLA currently offers 3 mission trips to the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Haiti. Many YBLA members have been, and are continually, intimidated by the hefty price tag of the trip. However, the 5K will serve as a means to promote the trips and and another outlet to receive funding. Another integral part of the race is health awareness; the 5K will incorporate valuable information and activities to promote healthy living in the African American and other minority communities. Whether a student decides to raise funds for his or her trip or simply runs to maintain a healthy lifestyle, we will be creating a new reality!
